Playworks brought another partnership to Eastman Avenue. PricewaterhouseCoopers came to Eastman to give employees a chance to be involved in community work. However, the day was more than just an ordinary community day event. Employees from PWC came to play, came to work and came to teach, all in one day! Employees started the morning with Playworks staff to begin with a community building activity that got the group moving and brought out the child in the more than 100 PWC adults.
Then the work began. As luck would have it, it was the hottest day in October, but that didn't take away the energy of Playworks staff and PWC. They painted yard areas, worked on the school garden, built benches and potting stations for garden, cleaned out old closets, swept, revived the green area and still have time to play kickball and a fast game of handball on the yard. If that was not enough, PWC went into 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms to deliver lessons on financial literacy.
Eastman thanks Playworks and PricewaterhouseCoopers for a day that was a great example of civic involvement, physical activity, as well as a day of learning for both adults and students.
